December was a busy month for REGREEN team! Right before the start of holidays season, 2 must attend events being of high relevance for REGREEN took place in Brussels.
Nature4Cities, one of H2020 NBS focused projects operating for 3 years now, organised an interactive event wait aim to reveal and share its ”Tools, methods and guides to renature cities” with broader group of interested stakeholders, outside their consortium and affiliated cities. Marianne Zanderseen, REGREEN project coordinator from Aarhus University and Richard Hardiman, consultant, attended the event on behalf of REGREEN. Together with other participants, they learned about the project and its achievements, followed by an interactive demo-workshop of the different tools and guides developed. The project aims to help policy makers and experts answer 3 questions: how to build a NBS project? How to assess a NBS scenario? How to implement a NBS scenario and involve citizens? A link to the workshop material can be found here: https://www.nature4cities.eu/post/nature4cities-tools-methods-and-guides-to-renature-cities.
Urban-EU-China – the Innovation Platform on Sustainable Cities platform, also operating for more than 3 years, gathered projects and initatives under the event titled: EU-China Smart Sustainable Cities. Both European and Chinese experts got an outlook on new EU-China initiatives and opportunities to get engaged. Participants were inspired by long-term city-to-city partnershis as well as the promising newcomers. REGREEN was represented by Vasilis Latinos, knowledge management and EU-China exchange partner from ICLEI, who gave a presentation on the project. More information on the event can be found here: https://www.urbaneuchina.eu/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/20191217_EU-CHINA-EVENT_InvitationProgram.pdf.
REGREEN looks forward to liaise with and support other NBS projects, through its 4-years course and hopefully beyond. Therefore, if you work on a project, initiative or event that might be of interest for REGREEN, feel free to contact us. We will do our best to engage!
